Working within the confines of a heritage listed façade, Hardy Milazzo has re-lifed the circa 1880’s Bickfords Building. The original floor, brick walls and trusses have been refurbished to retain the general feel of the original building, while modern materials have been added to revitalise the entire area. Vibrant colour has been used adjacent earthy tones to create a stimulating and inviting space.
There has been no attempt to conceal services, but the interplay of contemporary design with heritage elements creates an exciting and stimulating space. In addition, we have added a full length mezzanine level to incorporate extensive staff breakout facilities and to cater for future growth.
As part of the base building work a new skylight, stair feature, glass lift and Toilets added. As well as a full services upgrade.
