IMMANUEL COLLEGE
Immanuel College recognised the need to provide state of the art sporting facilities to maintain the School's position as a leading organisation in sporting education.
Hardy Milazzo won a design competition for this project in 2004. The next two years saw the design and construction of the complex, culminating in the official opening of the facilities in November 2007.
Hardy Milazzo was also initially involved in the master planning of the complex, noting in particular the need for the building to relate to both the senior and junior schools located on the site.
The complex now provides facilities including an enclosed and heated 10 lane 25 metre main pool, a learners’ pool and associated change facilities, two multipurpose sports halls for volleyball, basketball, netball, badminton, gymnastics and indoor soccer. A dance studio and fitness centre are also incorporated together with general learning areas or GLA's.
This complex is seen as the leading example of school sporting facilities in South Australia.
