MOSSOP GROUP HEAD OFFICE CHURCH REDEVELOPMENT

The proud new headquarters for Mossop Construction & Interiors at 155 Port Road (opposite the Entertainment Centre) has been a successful redevelopment of the State Heritage listed Brompton Methodist Church. A complete ‘hollowing out’ and extensive re-fit of the interior, under the careful watching eye of Neil and his staff, has created a light, airy and very contemporary design which also showcases Mossop’s construction skills. The building was extended an additional 12m to the rear, in a manner which respects the earlier architecture while still being ‘of our time’, demonstrating the layers of life through which the building has progressed. Much attention was devoted to the recycling and rejuvenation of the original building fabric, passive thermal design, admittance of natural ventilation and light and contextual relation to the adjacent buildings.

155 Port Road is one part of the larger Port Rd Historic Commercial Precinct.
