STRATHALBYN MOTEL

The Strathalbyn Motel has been designed to a scale that is sensitive to the low scale residential character of the nearby residences. It is also sited on the main road into the township which required it to be an eye catching and stimulating design.

The motel units are therefore clustered in groups that reflect the massing of the adjacent houses with the main entry building of a stronger character and diverse roof form.

Each dwelling unit was designed to capitalise on natural light and also has an external balcony space as an extension to their internal living space.

23 units have been incorporated together with a Site Manager’s residence.

Carparking is discretely located in an internal courtyard with substantial buffer screening from the units.

All units are slightly raised above the natural ground level to facilitate a pleasant outlook from each.
